As I think about the nursery paging system, it looks like churches using them are either using a really old method or are usually somewhere in between. I don't know the moment the first nursery was initially introduced by the church, but there are sizeable churches in Europe that date back centuries that could easily have a nursery. And I am certain if they did have a nursery, an individual from it would have to venture out into the congregation to tell a parent that they were wanted by their child. But unfortunately, the presentation computer software is not used for the whole service, so sometimes a parent can't be notified.
And finally the nursery paging system evolved to what's available today. Now nurseries will check out personal pagers to parents. When a parent checks their little one in, they check out a pager. When the parent returns the pager to the nursery, their little one is released to them. This is a great security feature for toddlers since the nursery is an easy place to abduct children for parents that are in a custody battle. It is sad to say, but it's true. Also, the pager is actually silent and vibrates when the parent is needed. It is totally private and doesn't disturb others. A parent can also be paged anywhere on the church campus regardless of where they are at. The days of worrying about your youngster in the nursery are gone. No more disturbing the service or nervously watching for your number, the nursery paging system has definitely come a long way.
