As soon as Nintendo unveiled the Wii console it took the video gaming universe by storm. It exposed the world of computer entertainment to every person. By holding an easy controller and swinging it like a tennis racket you were able to instantaneously play tennis games on the Wii console. The Wii was innovative but Microsoft Kinect takes things further. Like the Nintendo, the Kinect games system works by using a scanning unit which sits over your Television set. The difference is though; Kinect scans the body and picks up your own motions, which translates to mean there is no need to even hold a controller in your hand.
When you need to select some thing from the actual onscreen menus all you need to do is raise your hand and motion which icon you would like to select. If you're playing a racing video game you merely place the hands as if you were holding a steering wheel! There's no need to actually purchase an extra steering wheel add-on!
If the state-of-the-art motions technology employed in kinect is not awesome enough, how about voice recognition too? Yes, believe it or not, Kinect has the capacity to comprehend speech instructions by using sophisticated voice recognition software.
It would seem that Microsoft's brand new piece of kit is set to change the face of video gaming eternally. Since it is an add-on for the Xbox it requires the Xbox 360 gaming console as well. The cost is still undisclosed because Kinect is not due for release right up until Oct 2010.
